Heather Parson is not just content with writing stories, she also likes to illustrate her written work.
Her teacher, LaVerne Hutto said the Tanana Middle School eighth-grader puts in a 110 percent effort.
“Her passion for learning inside and outside of the classroom brings a great deal of wealth to all who meet her,” Hutto said.
Parsons said she enjoys literature class because she is able to read books she is interested in. Parson is particularly interested in the book, “Half Human.” She recently worked on a special project where she illustrated her favorite short story from the book.
Another favorite literary pick is “Ender’s Game,” which Parsons has just finished. She said she can’t wait to read the sequel.
“The massive illusion that Ender is trapped in is so well thought out and detailed, you can’t help but be sucked up into Ender’s world,” Parsons said.
Hutto said Parsons is focused on getting the highest grades possible and never fails to complete extra-credit learning experiences.
“She will be successful because of her endless curiosity and excitment about life,” Hutto said.
Although Parsons said she enjoys her literature class, her writing will have to take a backseat because she plans on being a physicist.
“Physics is really a complex word for magic,” Parsons said. “I believe most scientific theories are based off of magic, especially thermodynamics.”
