L.E. Robertson shows a view of “Watching the Floods at Fairbanks Alaska July 6th, 1905” in this great photo of waterfront Fairbanks. The Isabelle was a familiar boat in early views of Fairbanks, but I can’t quite figure out the boat next to the Isabelle at the dock. Is it named the D.H. Schuman or is it advertising a clock repair shop with the giant clock that says “expert” on the casing and is pointing toward town? I don’t know the name Schuman from any early listings, but will now have to try and find it! It looks like the river is “unflooding” and the riverbank is reappearing in some places.
