Chaz breaks ground Thursday

Published Wednesday, August 27, 2008

FAIRBANKS — Celebrate with Chaz Limited Collision Express as the company breaks ground on a second Fairbanks location at 2 p.m. Thursday on Harold Bentley Ave. off the Johansen Expressway.

Look for a big sign and colorful balloons and plan to enjoy refreshments, marketing manager Eddie Parker said.

Contractors started clearing the property this summer. The 14,000-square-foot facility should be up and running in February, offering greater convenience to customers, Parker said. The existing location on 30th Avenue will continue operations.

Chaz Ltd. is now hiring a complete staff for the second location, Parker said.

Chuck Miller started Chaz Auto Body and Glass in his Fairbanks garage 30 years ago at age 18. In addition to the 30th Avenue site in Fairbanks, the company has two locations in Anchorage and one in Wasilla.

Congrats, Chaz Ltd.! You did some repair work (insurance) for me a couple of years back - and no one could tell the difference in paint, composition, placement, etc. on a tough vehicle to fix.

Your hard work and dedication to excellence is paying off. Keep it up!

Nice thing about being a Fairbanks resident for 40 years is that you is that learn some of the town's inside info. I can't say whether they do good work or not because I won't do business with Chuck Miller.

I am glad to see a Fairbanks buisness growing and thriving. Behind that privacy fence that uses the side of the overpass to hide all of the cars is a huge congestion pile, if ever a buisness needed to move to grow it was Chaz. Good job guys, may it pay for itself for years to come.
