Public Safety Report - May 3

The Public Safety Report is compiled from criminal complaints filed in state and federal courts, as well as some police blotter information, trooper dispatches, fire department reports and interviews with public safety officials. Individuals named as arrested and/or charged with crimes in this report are presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
Burglary
A woman reported her camera stolen from a Jillian Square apartment on Thursday afternoon. She told Fairbanks police that this was the second time a camera had been stolen from her home in recent weeks.
Plane crash
Alaska State Troopers were called to the scene of an airport crash Saturday morning at the Tetlin Airport in Tok. The two occupants of the Bellanca 7GCBC, pilot Aaron Atchley, 63, of Tok, and flight instructor Duwayne Young, 50, of Tok, were uninjured.
The crash occurred on the landing strip when Atchley lost control, and caused major damage to the plane. Troopers notified the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board. The cause of the crash is currently unknown.
