Public Safety Report - May 17

The Public Safety Report is compiled from criminal complaints filed in state and federal courts, as well as some police blotter information, trooper dispatches, fire department reports and interviews with public safety officials. Individuals named as arrested and/or charged with crimes in this report are presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

Burglary

A woman reported Tuesday that her Redstone Road home was broken into, causing $50 damage to a door, according to an Alaska State Trooper report.

Only $10 was stolen, the report stated.

Assault

Glen S. Duncan, 41, of Fairbanks was charged with third-degree assault stemming from allegations he choked a woman Thursday, court record stated.

Multiple charges

Mark D. Torkelson, 53, of Fairbanks was charged with fourth-degree weapons misconduct, disorderly conduct and two counts of third-degree assault.

According to court records, he is accused of trying to burn a man with a cigarette, swinging at him and then pointing a rifle at two men Wednesday.
