Quake rattles area northeast of Circle

ANCHORAGE -- A light earthquake has rumbled through Alaska's northcentral region.

The Alaska Earthquake Information Center gives the quake a preliminary magnitude of 4.9.

It occurred at 1:20 a.m. Saturday, about 75 miles northeast of Circle.

There are no immediate reports that the quake was felt or caused any damage.

    75 miles northeast of Circle...that is up in Black River country. Interesting, I have never heard of an earthquake in that area. I wonder if anyone in Chalkytsik felt it?? Maybe Mark Richards felt it, he writes alot on here...
