Lifelong Tanana resident Sandra Lynn Scharf, 46, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008, surrounded by her family at her home, after a long battle with cancer.
Sandra was born July 27, 1961, to Percy and Marion (Albert) Joseph in Tanana, where she grew up and attended Tanana High School. Sandra enjoyed beading, sewing and berry picking.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gilbert Joseph; and sister, Christine Simon.
She is survived by her sons, Jesse Joseph of Tanana, Gordon Parker of Fairbanks and Colten Lambert of Fairbanks; daughters, Monica Zuray of Boston and Cassandra Joseph of Tanana; sister, Louise Williams of Fairbanks; friends, Rodney and Jessie (Dennis) Lekanof of St. George; brother, Jerry Joseph of Fairbanks; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 8, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Scott Fisher will officiate.
A second service will be held in Tanana where she will be laid to rest at the Tanana Cemetery.
