Recently Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell announced his intention to run against 18-term Congressman Don Young. Parnell said Alaskans are tired of the controversies surrounding Young while Young called Parnell “a little man that’s lying.” What are your thoughts on these two prominent Alaskan Republicans running against one another in the August election?

“I hope (Parnell) beats the daylights out of (Young). I’m a veteran and Young has done some good things for veterans, but I don’t think he’s worth the paper he writes his name on. He’s greedy — I don’t like him. I don’t care for the guy. He has done some good things but I believe he’s fallen away from what got him where he is.”

“It’s time for Young to be replaced by someone who remembers the purpose of public office. Parnell embodies that notion. I believe he will make a fine representative.”

“Maybe Don Young is a bit too influential to be ousted by Parnell regardless of how Parnell may be. I don’t see Parnell as comprehensive of a representative as Don Young.”

“When someone is running for a race they should stick with their own interests in what their going to do for the people and not go after the other person to ridicule them and make them look like a bad guy. They should stick to their platform. It’s uncalled for (the comments). Stick to your own guns. It sounds like little kids calling each other names.”
