The turbine rotor being rotated into the Yukon River just down river from Ruby. The turbine is manufactured by New Energy Corp in Calgary and has a capacity of 5kW at a 5.4 mph current velocity. The smaller sized turbine was selected because of the ease with which it can be incorporated into the study. The pontoon boat is a 9-1/2 ft x 20 ft aluminum structure designed and built by ABS Alaskan, Inc.
