Fairbanks by the numbers in November

Published Friday, November 14, 2008

Yes, the economy is in flux. This was brought home to me yesterday when I filled my car up with gas -- only $2.86 at Fred's.

However, the price of the "free" turkey promotion at Fred's has gone up. In years past, you could get a turkey if you bought $100 worth of groceries. This year, you have to pony up $150 worth of groceries before you get a "free" bird.
