Suspicious circumstances

A man told Fairbanks police officers Saturday that he returned to his west Fairbanks home at about 7:30 that night and found a child-sized mannequin had been left inside a trash bag.

The mannequin, he said, had its hands and feet bound with red duct tape and had tape over its mouth. Fresh tracks were on the property.

The man reportedly wondered if it was some type of threat and said he had no known enemies, and police took the mannequin to the police station for inspection.

Traffic hazard

A driver reported to police early Saturday evening that a baby bed was in the middle of the eastbound lanes of the Johansen Expressway near the onramp at Peger Road. Police couldn’t find the bed.

Threat

A driver told police early Saturday evening that he or she had been threatened with a stun gun after telling another driver to slow down in the parking lot of Wal-Mart.

Theft

A man reported early Saturday evening that a window of his vehicle had been broken while it was parked outside the Carlson Center and that a purse, which included the keys to a bank safety deposit box, had been taken.
