Palin drops puck at Philadelphia Flyers' game

Published Saturday, October 11, 2008

PHILADELPHIA -- To a mixture of boos and cheers, Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin dropped the ceremonial first puck Saturday night at the Philadelphia Flyers' home opener against the New York Rangers.

The Alaska governor and self-described "hockey mom" heard a few boos when she walked onto the ice, but that soon turned to polite applause as she headed to center ice with Mike Richards of the Flyers and Scott Gomez - from Alaska - of the Rangers.

Palin waved to the crowd and smiled as she dropped the puck to applause and cheers.

Cathy O'Connell of Erdenheim, Pa., joined Palin on the ice as the winner of a team promotion for the "Ultimate Hockey Mom."

Last month, Palin visited a Philadelphia bar with Flyers owner Ed Snider, who has donated money to Republican presidential nominee John McCain's campaign.

The NHL said it did not view the Flyers' invitation to be politically motivated.

"Governor Palin is a supporter of the sport, which she has proclaimed publicly," NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said. "As a public figure who has a very public connection with hockey, her recent associations with the Flyers and other NHL franchises is not surprising and, in our view, not inappropriate."

There were no apparent signs of protest outside the arena, and one fan held a sign that read "Vote Obama" behind New York's net. A few other held "Obama-Biden" signs behind her.

Dropping the puck. This seems to be the most appropriate role yet for Sarah Palin. Can't wait to see what Tina Fey does with this. Go Tina, er, Sarah!

As long as she keeps the puck out of Washington, I don't care where else she drops it. Is SNL on yet????

According to MSNBC news reports it was more like 90 seconds of pretty constant booing. I think Palin is finally getting a taste of what America really thinks of her, winks and mugging for the camera notwithstanding.

Imagine that, MSNBC exaggerating. Were Chrissy or KO having an orgasm when they reported? At least a tingling feeling running up their legs.

Philadelphia is obviously filled with a bunch of classless boors. Imagine if Obama had been booed like that at a public sporting event. John Lewis, Lindsey Lohan, and dobieman/doris would be screaming "Racists!"

Now that a few republicans (or Obama plants) at McCain/Palin rallies are beginning to act like the majority of democrats have been acting for eight years, suddenly the dhimmis are offended. What a bunch of insincere jerks.

sambreetmeuse -- you must be from Philly. Can you tie your own shoes or do you still need help with that? Someday you'll be a big girl and you'll learn which shoe goes on which foot and maybe you'll learn to speak grown-up talk.

All tings considered, gettng onl slightly booed in Phlly has to be considered good or Palin. That was, after all, the city that booed Santa Claus. Regardless, it's just a dumb stunt by someone trying to extend her 15 minutes on the national stage.

    Go Flyers! Go home, Sarah!

In other news, the Phils took a 2-0 lead over the Dodgers in the NLCS! Go Phils!

Shows that she should've stayed in Alaska where the Republican Mushrooms keep electing these Republican Scumbags.
She's right on par with the Treasonous Neo Con Republicans in Gutting, Usurping and Cr--ping on the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
While they're bankrupting the country to the tune of almost 53-54 trillion dollars of American Taxpayer deficits, in direct and indirect costs, the Neo Con Parasites are stashing all their stolen loot in offshore accounts with no extradition treaties with us.
We're up to our eyeballs in IOU's to China and Saudi Arabia. While the Neo Cons are selling us out, foreign governments are taking over American holdings and lands... In America.
Yep.. you can puty lipstick on a pitbull.. But in the end, it's still a pitbull.
You can also paint whitewash on a t--d, but in the end, it's still a t--d.

What happened to prospector? We need those educated people out here. Don't alienate him. We need him to make us better. What is going on with the Republicans? Do you remember when they used to have ideas? They used to be formidable. Did Philly really boo Santa? Well. I think the Republican party went to hell in 2000. I was ready to vote for McCain in 2000, instead they put in that knob baby Bush. Bush made the Republican party a disaster. Go Independents. I like cheese.

Obama plants? Oh no. For more information on keeping obama plants out of alaska check out:

    http://www.uaf.edu/ces/aiswg/

or even the adf&g invasives site

    http://www.adfg.state.ak.us/special/inva...

I don't think the obama plants are used to the interior alaska climate and probably all wilted after the first frost, that is, unless they were moved indoors for the season.....
