Chris Freiberg
Public Safety Reporter
Call Chris at 907-459-7545.
Chris Freiberg came to the News-Miner in August 2007 within weeks of graduating from Indiana University, where he was also managing editor of the school paper. After spending his whole life in the Midwest, the opportunity to work in the Last Frontier and cover the unique way of life in Fairbanks was too much to resist. Chris has a bachelor's degree in journalism with a second concentration in religious studies. While not covering police and military news, or whatever else comes his way, he enjoys exploring Fairbanks or staying warm inside with his Xbox 360 and a few good rounds of Halo 3. He worked for several papers in Indiana and Illinois and has written freelance articles for Hustler magazine. Chris lives in a basement (a nice one!) with his dog, an Akita border collie mix named Prince.
