Photo of John Wagner

John Wagner is a lifelong Alaskan with a passion for photojournalism. Wagner grew up in the state’s capital city, Juneau, and moved north in 2003 to attend the University of Alaska Fairbanks. University photography classes sparked Wagner’s interest in the field, drawn by the unlimited potential and raw power of the single image. While attending UAF, Wagner completed internships at the News-Miner and the Anchorage Daily News. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Photojournalism from UAF in 2007, Wagner was hired as a staff photographer at the News-Miner. In his free time Wagner enjoys snowboarding, motorcycling and exploring beautiful places.
