Sports writer Joshua Armstrong is from a place where if you say "hockey," people think you're clearing your throat. Born and raised in the South, he graduated from the University of Florida in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in journalism. He drove to Alaska from Bradenton, Fla., to be a copy editor for the News-Miner in September 2007. He joined the sports department in June 2008.
