No worries. It just bothers me when people think drilling and such will ruin the area when they have never seen how clean they keep the place.

I don't think anyone that hasn't been to Prudhoe Bay should not be able to make a negitive comment on ANWR. We drove to Dead Horse for the fun of it over a 4Th of July weekend a few years ago and there was not so much as gum wraper on the ground. The only people that live there are the ones who work there. So I don't think we have to worry about it becomeing a retirement community. It has to be the most desolate place I have ever seen on the planet. Another thought; Why is it OK to just burn natural gas into the air and waste it rather use it for the good of our county and the people in it?

Sheesh, I nearly had a little panic attack there for a minute before I scrolled down and read what was going on there.

Also;
Thank you Dutchgirl, very cool cam shot.

Pioneer Park/Alaska Land is just the best place. Fairbanks is fortunete to have such a cool place to go with the family and or friends.
All looks well there tonight/early morning. Actually Fairbanks always looks good to me.

Like Bonnie mentioned, The sky is so incredible in Alaska. I don't know if it's just me, but I think the sky is 70 times bigger than the central US.
And the moon is huge. They just seem so much closer to the earth.
I also think you can see every type of cloud formation known to man, all at one time in the sky there.

Something I didn't relize untill we moved back to the lower 48, was how modern Fairbanks is in so many ways. Where were at now is like living in 1980. In Faibanks there ATM's every where, here there only in banks.
The stop lights there are great. Here we still have to stop at 2:00 am at a red light on the main drag. There are nearly no turn lanes here, narrow roads in town. Way more stores to vist there. The stores have bigger selections there. The Phone co. and the Electric Co. power stays on in all weather conditions. Not here!

Ya, what's the deal with shipping. USPS charges the same for all states when it's a large envolope or priority, yet lot's of companys and others.... charge way more on top of that. I think that should be a violation of civil rights (or something). It really gripes me when they do that and US Millitary live in Alaska and defend Alaska just like the rest of the country.
When we were in a store while we lived there, I was behind a guy that was telling a casher about when he was in the United States bla bla bla. I thought were do you think you are now moron?!
