Another good reason to vote yes on 1 is so that when the Okies and Texans show up to build the gas line, we can take their money away from em legally :)

I've read the pamphlet and studied the issues; I still believe Alaska is someplace different, that we enjoy a life here that is no longer available elsewhere in the US, that we are a free people responsible enough to make our own decisions without government interference.
Yes on 1.
One of the limited responsibilities of the state to its people includes management of resources; the difference between a management tool and sport is management does not and should not include private concerns.
Yes on 2.
State funding of election campaigns can only broaden the field of choice and lessen special interests ability to influence which candidates are chosen to run, and the decisions of those elected.
Yes on 3.
Clean water is one of Alaska's biggest resources, and as such, the impacts of any industry should be a topic deeply debated in the legislature after long and careful research; not a referendum vote driven by supposition, deceit, and propaganda.
No on 4.

Write in Ron Paul or whatever candidate he endorses; its our only hope to make a return to honest government and constitutional law.

The Republicans and the Democrats have proven themselves to be liars and thieves for sale to the highest bidder(s). The Democrats represent mob rule, the Republicans represent rule by an elite aristocracy, neither of which encourages or maintains honesty or truth.

Larry and lakloey1, you are both wrong...our system of government is a democratic republic; a popular vote of the people (democracy) elects representatives that cast votes for the populace (republic). Ancient Rome, for example, was a republic, but not a democratic republic. Representatives were chosen by the senators themselves.

Setec and MrGreen, its fools like you that empower the evil minds bent on controlling us all; please educate yourselves ASAP.

For instance, MrGreen, notice I stated "evil MINDS; evil (like bad or good) is a descriptive applied to thought and action; inanimate objects are only tools and as such cannot be assigned a moral judgement. Look back in your history, I'm sure you will find a long ago ancestor killed by a rock. whether for good or evil, it was the antagonist and not the rock which had intentions. To say guns suck is childish and incorrect.

As for our gun rights being under attack, Setec, can you not see that even on this thread, there are those who would like nothing better than to disarm otherwise law-abiding people? It was stated above "divide and conquer". If you scroll up you will see this point made on an earlier post by myself and another. It is a fact that our 2 party system has split this nation down the middle; elections are determined by a few votes and 51% is a resounding victory. We are divided; it is up to us all to now remain vigilant and prepared as our conquerors stand ready to usurp power and will do so by first disarming us.

Our gun rights are under attack, more so now than at any other time in history, and should we lose this precious freedom, the future is bleak indeed.

If I want to pitch my money to the wind, too bad; its mine to pitch. Any pull-tab parlor will suffice and in fact those who are addictive gamblers already know this and take complete advantage of it.

Arguments of the cost to society don't hold water either; if this was a reason for the existence of laws, cigarettes and alcohol would become illegal overnight, a national speed limit of 30 mph would be rigidly enforced, and those below a minimum income who wish to have children would face mandatory abortion and sterilization.

MY constitutions, both federal and state, guarantee me a right to the pursuit of happiness, and I would like to take advantage of that right, thank you.

Voting against measure 1 is a vote against jobs and against industry. It is against generated revenue for the state and against keeping gambling dollars in the state.

Most importantly, a 'no' vote is against an individuals pursuit of happiness, a constitutional right.

It is amazing, dobieman, and even more so is his flawed logic on #1. Anyone who thinks gambling isn't rampant in Alaska needs only to find a pull-tab parlor on payday; those who wish to throw away hundreds of dollars on a hunch already have an outlet for their addiction, while those of us who would like a more upscale location for an evenings entertainment have few options in the interior. He says "The gambling industry wins." Isn't that what he asks for in voting against measure 4? For industry to win? I cant believe anyone would be against another industry in Alaska, especially when rising gas prices are taking their toll on the tourism industry.

Casinos require rigid management to succeed, and in so doing provide many chances for employment in the process; joining a multi-state lottery increases revenue to the state; allowing electronic gambling devices cuts the massive amount of paper waste which is inherent with pull-tabs.

Yes on 1 and 2.
