To those who favor Obama,

I didn't like McCain (and was "torn" between voting for him and not voting at all until Sarah came along). You may be right about McCain but I think you're wrong about Obama. With all of the flaws that McCain (and, for that matter, Palin) have, I think the McCain/Palin Ticket is the better choice.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see who wins (and who is upset by that). The difference, I think, will be that I will just be upset if Obama wins whereas you all will be shouting "foul" or "Voter Fraud" if McCain & Palin win...

The Borough doesn't need more revenue - they NEED to reduce their spending. When prices go up at Fred Meyer, I have to buy LESS and budget for those things that I absolutely have to have.

I've been responsible for submitting a budget for my section (granted it was several years ago) and I was told that the budget was going to be cut - I could decide where my budget was going to be reduced or "THEY" would do it for me!

I second some of the previous comments, THANK YOU DONNA!!!

"Obama isn't planning on 'tacking away' so much as he is 'evening out'."

I would argue that both allegations are patently false.

That Obama isn't planning on 'taking away' my rights to keep and bear arms is directly contradicted by many of his past stances on Gun Control and Anti-2nd Amendment Issues. Now he says he isn't going to take anyone's guns away (because he doesn't have enough votes). That's 'baloney'! He wants to appoint activist judges to the Supreme Court that would sway the court in the opposite direction and eliminate once and for all, the right of the individual citizen to have, own, keep, and use guns (except under the most narrow, stringent, and government-approved limitations until individual gun rights simply disappear into the history books).

That Obama wants to 'even out' things is true in that he wishes to give more to the poorest citizens. The problem with the idea is that the government has no money except what it takes from it's citizens in taxes so 'evening out' is by definition 'taking' from those who pay taxes. I am just conservative enough that I agree with the proposition that "if you won't work, you don't eat" - I'm tired of supporting the lazy (the sick and the lame are another issue and deserve some help to be able to help themselves).

The House and Senate can still pull this out and 'save' Wall Street but they don't have to bankrupt our future to do it.

I do agree with Don Young on this one (and I may actually vote for him even though I hadn't planned to).

On Young votes no on bailout plan, which fails in U.S. House

LostAlaskan99712,

I haven't been all together happy with George Bush over the last 4 or 5 years but if I had it all to do over again, I'd still vote for him over the alternatives we've been offered. I don't like John McCain but I like Osama Obama even less than I liked Al Gore and John Kerry so we're right back to voting for the "Lesser of Two Evils".

Assuming you know the origin of the term "Koolaide Drinkers", I think a lot of people have been drinking Obama's Koolaide (a close derivative of the beverage Jim Jones offered his followers in the jungles of Gyana.

"(O)f course if the Democrats win it will be the fault of the DNM, ADN, CNN, CBS, MSNBC, FOX, The New York Times, LA times, the Associated Press, C-SPAN, NBC..." Please note that I stopped just before Howard Stern; I did so for a reason. Howard Stern is an obscene, characture of a man who is more interested in his own self-agrandizement than in the betterment of this or any other society.

I've already said it. We're going to have to wait to see the outcome of the greatest 'poll' of the season (the results of the election). Somebody's going to be disappointed; it may be me and other conservatives but I think it's going to be the Liberals and the Democrats - you know, the ones who cannot get their minds around the concept that not everyone agrees with their sick, twisted, diseased, warped view of the United States and our relationship with the other Nations of the World.

Only one thing scares me. In this and each of the past two election cycles, we've been offered a Democrat candidate that I thought was 'progressively' worse than the one before. Al Gore was worse in my opinion than Bill Clinton and John Kerry was worse than Al Gore and now Barack Obama is worse than even John Kerry. If, assuming I'm right and Barack Obama loses the election, who are the Democrats going to choose in four (4) years? How can you find someone who is "an order of magnatude" worse than Barack Obama?

"Alaskans financially supporting Obama more than McCain..."

It's clear from the amount of anti-McCain/Palin propaganda that the DNM is opposed to her but I don't believe the headline that the lack of support extends to the majority of Alaskans. Guess we'll just have to want until late on November 4th (or more probably early on the morning of November 5th) to tell who the majority of Alaskans support. Of course, if Obama loses the DNM will probably lead the Obama contingent in charges of cheating and vote stealing...

Since my wife and I both have to work (and we do 'carpool') to afford the mortgage payment, we have very little time (or money) to use the Library, Swimming Pool, or Parks and Rec Areas. We have our hands full just keeping food on the table in a warm house. Yes, you're right, I sure do know how I will vote...

Well, when someone finally figures out how we can all hibernate (sleep through the cold and dark without eating, peeing, or pooping), we will have solved the energy crisis.

When they do perfect cryogenic hibernation for people, I'd like to see them test it out on folks like Gene first...

"Troopers joined local officers at an apartment complex. They say Lloyd fired multiple rounds in the direction of officers, and was then shot and killed by a trooper..."

It may, indeed, have been 'Suicide by Cop' but the bottom line is if anyone fires 'multiple rounds in the direction of' me, I return fire and I won't criticize the police or troopers for doing the same. The police may have problems but sounds like this shooting was justified.

They beg for money and curse at you if you don't give them something. It's hard to work up compassion for someone when they verbally abuse you for not handing over money.

Oh, BTW, I do contribute to the Combined Federal Campaign and to various other charities but I don't hand over money for pan handlers that I'm 90% certain will go buy alcohol (or worse)...
