Can anyone tell me if there is an archive of ArcticCam comments? Lots of comments today, and when I came on a little while ago when I hit "Read All Comments", it gave me messages from about 5 AM today and nothing before that. I would like to see the comments from about 5 PM yesterday too. Thanks to all, enjoying all the lovely comments.

Wildsteelhead - thanks so much for the instructions on reviewing the aurora images. WOW! What a beautiful night! Wish I was there. Thanks again, I'm in Washington state and don't have the Florida cammers' advantage of the time zones. I am an hour ahead of Fairbanks. So trying to catch the aurora live only happens if I am having a sleepless night.

flapalms -- Your trip with Princess should be fine. We have stayed at the Princess hotels near Talkeetna, in Fairbanks, and at Denali Park. We have always been satisfied with them. And we have sailed with Princess a number of times and enjoyed it.

We had friends who lived in Anchorage for about 5 years, and they got us started visiting Alaska many years ago. When we went over New Years one year to see what winter was like, she told us that in the spring she had to relearn how to walk normally again because the snow in Anchorage was wetter and more slushy in winter. She said she had to really watch her steps. I imagine it's because of proximity to the water -- Cook Inlet. When we were in Fairbanks the snow was much drier and easier to walk in, lots colder of course too.

At 6:25 AK time, there is a double rainbow on the aurora cam.

Guess the clouds don't bode well for aurora tonite.

bkpro: Here is a great page for webcams in Alaska -- not for Fairbanks, however. http://www.alaskawebcams.org/index.htm
cyba: After our first visit to Alaska, which was in summer, we decided to fly to Fairbanks for a couple of days over New Years, and also a couple of days in Anchorage. We wanted to see what the "dark" was like. We were amazed at how light it was even at night with snow covering everything. We could walk around the neighborhood at night with no street lights. Didn't need a flashlight either. It was a real treat. The sun traveled across the the top of the mountains for about 5 or 6 hours each day. Just lovely. Beautiful sunsets too.

Thanks, miganut. It is so beautiful there. We've traveled about 15 times to AK, from Prudoe Bay (twice), to Kodiak. Haven't been able to drive from WA where we live. But Alaska is so awesome, and Homer will always have a special place in my heart. We've traveled to Fairbanks many times, 3 times to ICE ART FESTIVAL in March. It is also fantastic. Maybe I'll be able to do it again in 09, sure hope so.

Hi, all. Can't sleep tonite, so got up to play some solitaire and check the aurora cam. The aurora are dancing around and it really looks funny through the ice streams frozen on the lens/window. Full moon tonite makes the snow look like it is more like noon from that cam. It is unbelievably bright!
