What about the pay gouging going on in the legislature like Wielechowski's and all the perks?

That is a good place to start ... cut their pay to a reasonable level and get rid of all the family paid stuff.

What a bunch of morons you two people are .... who the hell do you think pays the bills? The pure stupidity of people like you is about 98% of the problem.

Get rid of Palin and you will see a huge difference. Brilliant she is not! Now she has steered the resources out of the state and country ... lol. I guess that sums up her foreign affairs expertise and don't forget that she saw a Russian airplane once too.

The bush is lucky to have the service in the first place and the fuel is a very minor part of the cost to operate aircraft. Every village has a public funded airport as well.

Beside, it's all free anyway so what does it matter what the published price is?

It takes a dedicated $25 million dollar aircraft to service Barrow and a permanent crew whereas the aircraft in the route system going to SEA have much more utility. It has nothing to do with competition because any carrier can fly to Barrow. Again, Barrow is lucky to even have the frequency of service that they do.

The bulk of the money Stevens got was for the bush and native community ... he didn't do much for the average working people of the state and nothing that any other Senator can't do.

Over the years Stevens became a special interest player and I'm please to see him gone. Begich probably is no better or worse that anyone else. In fact, just about anyone else can do the job ... look at the Murkowski boondoggle with appointing his baby girl ... lol.

Good riddins to the lot of them and Palin too. Alaska has eroded into a not so nice place to live.

It would be better if they took them all down and then people would have to drive without a cell phone stuck in the side of the head ... gasp!

More money down the hole for downtown. Downtown is a mess, has been a mess for the past 35 years and will remain a mess for the next 50 years .... save the money and put it to a good use in the community elsewhere.

It is a junk yard and should actually be fenced off.

Crucible what a stupid comment. Stay in Asia.

The dog was not home and got into trouble. Owners fault and I suspect that this dog was let out loose routinely and runs with other loose dogs.

Unfortunately it is right up there with motherhood, cell phone rights and apple pie and these dog issues are not dealt with rationally. It is inappropriate to deliberately kill another's pet; however, it is equally inappropriate to subject others to your pet. Nothing in the article suggest that this was a deliberate action directed toward this dog. People are just looking to shift responsibility and blame.

swanny if the horse was in your yard and trashing your garden then what? What if it were stomping a kid? How about if it was just taking a dump on your car? At what point do you have a right to do something without it being your alleged "animal cruelty"? The fact is that it is the owners responsibility to keep their pets home .. dogs and kids too.

You have made an off-the-cuff conclusion and your opinion is not supported by any of the facts as we know them; however it appears to be based on your wishful outcome. It is unfortunate that the troopers don't have anything better to do but not surprising that some nit-wit DA who has not been here very long would mount the crusade.

There are always two sides to the story.
