maybe you misread, i could care less about some 25-cent tax proposal... as dumb as this idea is that i am even wasting my time writing to it... bags comprise of a very small, minute percentage of the trash in fairbanks. should we start taxing fast food more since their trash ends up on the ground the most? awesome idea, the only place with a $20 six dollar burger. maybe ill start bringing in my own plate and silverware with me when i go to eat.
its the whole "cus-word jar" idea. save your own nickels and dimes and dont quit your day job

how about a DNM-wide tax of 25 cents for each pointless letter to the editor?
when i find a mattress, a grill, a tv, porno, axles and car parts, and a variety of mcdonalds and burgerking cups to go around and around,...
then NO, i dont agree with you in that a tax will cut down litter.

wow, you guys are so dull. you bicker at each other with your cliche's and your haiku's and your conspiracy theories...
i've seen one person on here so far that has anywhere near the right idea. he's wearing a uniform and he's getting on a bird. just so you know, for all you "i know the real story, but i've never seen any proof" people, there are contracting companies that will hire you for ridiculous saleries, to go and support, you dont even have to join the military. you can do just about any job there.
so before you point fingers at "BushCo" because, "you have all the facts", go check it out first.

first of all, if you've ever seen the movie "falling down" with michael douglas, this accurately depicts this exact senario. this happens in every state and there is nothing you can do about it. well michael douglas did what we all wish we could do about it, but other than that, accept that the DOT gets theirs'.
on a side note, we live in fairbanks and we dont have something that every other state DOES have.
TRAFFIC! now i know a few of you are seething right now thinking about that half hour that you had to be in your car one time. calm down! there is no traffic here so at least you get to keep moving.
and lastly, emergency at home? call 911, thats what they do! yes we all wish that the genius's that run these government departments had played sim city just ONCE in their lifetime, but its summer in the interior. this is the only couple months out of the whole year that they have to repair ALL THE ROADS IN THE STATE! so you should've heard the bulldozers coming at the sign of that first snowflake in september, like everyone else here did.

to be honest, i upped my insurance, and as long as i am the only one in the car or truck, i dont hit the brakes. i've been VERY excited for the next moron to try and cut me off.
my favorite is the college intersection on steese southbound. ive had 3 people run themselves off the road when they just drifted out onto steese and didnt look first.
its so thrilling, you guys should try it. no horn or anything. drive dumb, get blindsided.
