If Obama tries to take our 1st and 2nd amendments rights from us our states only have to inforce the 10th amendment. Each state has the right to govern themselves according to our 10th amendment. Even to the point of suceeding from the union if these amendments are threatened.
Remember oxyfuel from the EPA in the 90s. It only took our governor to get rid of oxyfuel. It will only take our governor to protect our rights.

This is the way we do it Fairbanks. Produce, Manufacture and distribute locally. There is nothing stopping us from being a industrial town but ourselves. The next step is for us to have locally owned grocers again. Even if it is a Farmers Cooperative it would be a start. We have the brains and brawn to make more of this happen. Move over Anchorage, you're about to become the second largest city in Alaska.

Better yet, buy Made in Alaska. We have the resources to manufacture and right here in Alaska. If our state government officials really want to help Alaska they would support developing Alaskan companies.
I've been hearing how there is a shortage of ammo, guns, etc. Why not start a manufacturing plant right here. We need to support Alaska. When push comes to shove the states are going to have to start supporting themselves. Alaska will be the last place they ship anything when things really get tough.

lagirl, I don't know here you are from but I grew up in Kansas. Whenever we had a tornado drill, and air raid drills (we had them back then) we were kept in the building in the middle hall. Taught to get down, put our heads between our legs, and like my dad said, kiss your buns goodbye.
As far as how they handled the bomb threat at NPMS, they did the right thing. If there had been a bomb, it would of been in a vehicle outside the building and detonated when the children left the building or when the emergency crews arrived.
Also during such a situation would be an opportune time for someone to kidnap a child. That is why they asked for parents to show ID before picking up your child. They did the row call to make sure all was accounted for.
My grandchildren go to that school and I am glad the law enforcement followed the correct procedures. I do think the schools need to have drills so the children are prepared for such situations. In lower 48 they practice for drive by shootings also.

Two of my dogs came from mushers that were getting rid of a pup for one reason or other and two were dogs people abandoned, they were too lazy to take them to the pound. If you know any mushers Doug you can ask them if they are getting rid of any. And the pound is a great place to find that misfit that just needs love.

I used to work for Fairbanks Convention & Visitors Bureau. I had a writer come up from Georgia. He toured Fairbanks and then asked if I would take him to the Chamber Luncheon. And I did.
When they asked him what he thought of Fairbanks, he told them that they were making a huge mistake by tearing down what tourists are coming to see. At that time they had tore down the Rose building and where the Yukon Quest Store used to be. He told them about how Alanta had taken their old historical buildings reserved them and turned them into restaurants, bed and breakfasts and other small businesses. That way stabilizing their economy by have multi-businesses instead of just a few.
After he left, my boss was given a call by the Chamber and I was told not to take visitors to the luncheon again. Ooops.
If I had more room to type I'd tell you some of the comments I have received just this last year by tourists about the parking down town.
My advise to them was to contact the chamber and visitors bureau and tell them why they didn't enjoy downtown.
I guess I did an ooops again.

Thank you Maggie. I was an Air Force wife for 20 years. My husband had an assignment for 6 of those years, where the wives or families were allowed to know where he went or how long he would be gone. It's rought especially if you have kids.
And I don't care when he left, something always broke down. I learned real quick to watch repair men fix the air conditioning or whatever so it didn't cost me $80 everytime they came out. Our wives group actually started little seminar type meetings where we had technicians on different projects come and show us different simple repairs. I also took that time to learn publishing for the day that my husband retired from military I could start a career.
The biggest way to help your mentality while the spouse is away is stay busy and get off the base. Learn about the community your stationed. Each has their own fascinating history. Get involved.
Once again, thank you for supporting your spouses.

I can see it being used for assisting finding lost people and also in law enforcement. It could also be used as a spy plane. Big Brother Is Watching.
On a down note how many other people are put out of work when an agency buys one of these over hiring someone?
