All the more reason for natural gas. A little less concern for Usibelli and their campaign contributions and a little more concern for the citizens of the North Star Borough. It's cleaner, cheaper and less expensive to maintain.

Dermot,
Who is qualified? A professional politician. When Stevens went to office he was an ambulance chaser and had never held a public position before. The same can be said for Young, a teacher in Fort Yukon. Let's look at Ernst Gruening, a doctor from New York City and probably the most effective politician this state ever saw. By the way he was sent here more or less as a punishment by the Roosevelt administration. Ask your brother Terry at UAF. I am just sitting here squirming until you enlighten me on who is qualified.

This will probably be the best thing that has happened to Alaska in a long time. Somebody who really has a home in Alaska as opposed to an Atco trailer in Fort Yukon or a lodge in Girdwood and a lot of real estate investments in Arizona, Florida and Southern California. Who knows maybe people will start to think of Alaska as a state and not another national park. Maybe we really will see some major moves in the natural gas projects. She got the ball rolling and maybe she will be able to keep it rolling.

It's a bummer when you get caught with your hand in the cookie jar. I voted in the primary at 7:15 AM and Ted wasn't my choice.

BK was also involved with the University, burning garbage, to create energy. The only scheme where that worked was at Eielson AFB with the "refuse derived fuel facility". Not with the plan Bernie and the University came up with.

The only reason I go to a dealer for warranty work is because of the warranty. If you don't have one (a warranty) find a mechanic or garage that you feel comfortable with and trust. These guys depend on your buisness more than a dealer who makes limited funds on warranty work to begin with

Fast track the LNG line and forget about funding Usibelli and other big time contributors to Stevens, Whitaker and others of their persuasion. This is a distraction, a stall and more flim flam in order to hide the ineffectiveness of the national and state legislative bodies. The remark about the silence of the interior delegation is well deserved and we need some new faces there as well as Washington DC.

So much for the Silver Gulch as well. We went to eat there a few months ago to see how it was. The food was kind of pricey and mediocre, but the thing that got me and my wife a little angry was the waitress pushing the bill early, and more or less conveying the feeling we were taking to long and she wanted the table for more customers and the ensuing tips. We don't like being badgered or rushed and we haven't been back since and won't be. All in all the service and the food weren't worth the time or the price to go there.
