That's right nothing is free. We pay the price daily.
Energy is a concern everywhere, especially in Rural Alaska. Oil companies don't give me free oil and gas. I pay for it like everyone else.
What's so wrong about wanting to educate your children? Spanish, French, Japanese, and other languages are taught in schools through out the nation. I don't speak any of those languages and don't know anybody who does. I speak Athabascan. Why can't we teach our own language in our schools?
Also, There are headstart programs everywhere in the nation, Why can't Alaska have it their villages also. All races in this nation have their children attend headstart and are facing energy issues.
Don't be so quick to say we want everything free. It's not like you pay for everything, we all pay in a way or two. I work and pay taxes like most people in America and YES I would want my money to come back and benefit me.

Say all you want about Natives and our culture. Some of you keep trying to knock us down but we are still standing. Most of us Natives are raised to respect the land, animals, and our elders. Where's your respect? If you had any, you wouldn't be so quick to judge.

Not enough Money could replace what these people have lost. It's sad that some people think it's about greed. These families suffered greatly.

Larry was educated by the white man. It's not his fault he doesn't know how to write a letter correctly. Also, I'm Alaska Native and proud of it. Peace!

Let your children know that someitimes it turns back on them. They might be bunched up, acting all bad throwing beer cans at a 13 yr. old native kid, but guess what? one of these they'll run into the wrong person/crowd and end up getting beat right back down. Teach your child, what comes around goes around. It's a true fact. Encourage your children to treat others the way they would want others to treat them.

I am glad that more of us are starting to realize that alcohol and drugs are killing and hurting our people. More of us need to take a stand against alcohol and drugs. I encourage the native people to take back their pride and boot the alcohol. Let your voice be heard Jonathan, keep talking. Thank you.

Medicaid, Medicare, and insurance run your clinics the same way Indian Health Services run mine. What is the different in priveleges?
What special subsistence rights is there for us? Every moose season, we hunt among non natives.
