The programs mentioned above benefit the botough as a whole by improving the general education so people don't have to rely only on tv and radio for information. Over the years I have saved thousands of dollars utilizing the library's collection of auto repair manuals. So my economic situation has improved. The big dipper, pools, and parks and recreation improve the general health of our society thus reducing the local impact of more unpaid health bills and poor productivety.
Now the Carlson center is another matter, though I recognze it has it's supporters who have some valid points, I believe it's true costs are much higher than the others. Perhaps the real place to trim the FNSB budget is administration. Like that will ever happen.

Ask yourself, "Do I like the representation that Ramras has given Fairbanks?"
If you really do, than vote for him. What I see in him is a person who used his position to promote his own business over the interests of many Alaskan communities in Southeast. He used his position to promote the interests of a wealthy individual whose wilerness experience was threathened by development of jobs for Alaskans. He used his position to reduce the legislative session to 90 days increasing costs for government thru more special sessions.
So do you like this representation?

I see some still thing the problem and the solution to our troubles are partisian. The truth is in the original letter. Both parties are in on the betrayal of our nation. When ever you hear the issues of the day devolved to a tv jingle or simplistic motto you know the blinds are being closed. I believe we will never solve our problems till Congress and the President have no incentive or need to raise funds and suffer severe penalties for accepting any gift or conpensation from anyone. At this time our system doea not merely favor corruption but encourages it.
The constitution says we have the right to petion congress. This has been changed by the Supreme Court to mean Corporations have that right. Currently foreign corporation and nations have the same right. I would say a good start is to change that situation and that would have a greater benefit for our nation than many of the bogus smoke screens promoted by the Democrats and Republicans. The news groups protray third parties positions as somehow deranged and their candidates as short of a full deck but remember that protrayal is by the same people who brought to you our current mess.

Too bad so many chose corruption from the past over the chance for a brighter future.

This election makes me feel sick. Too many known unknowns. As a Governor Sarah supporter, I was disappointed by her interview. Maybe not enough prep work but I would have expected her to know that Georgia attacked first. More troubling is how quickly she has been co-oped by the old boy's club, both the state crooks and the national jackals. This does not look like the woman I met who spoke honestly and plegded transparency. A McCain-Palin administration will be the same as the previous. Obama is another unknown. Can't we leave religion, race, families, and sex out of our politics?

On Palin says she's ready to step in as president, leaves open option of war over Georgia

Sarah has been good for Alaska especially considering what our options were. I was so impressed that she alone had the cojones to stand up to Frank that I met her the day she opened her campaign office for that primary. She has had the support of conservatives, liberals, independent, and others. The support stemmed from her stand against corruption. As a governor most of us still support her.

But...
message to Sarah:
War is not God's work.
More specifically not Jesus' work.
War is the work of fanatics
