Big names from ConocoPhillips just walked out of Senate President Lyda Green's office (along with Sens. Stedman and Huggins) and made the short trip upstairs to see House Speaker John Harris.
They wouldn't say what the meeting was about, but odds are pretty good it's the gas pipeline. CP's VP for North Slope gas development Brian Wenzel joked, What else do I do? when I asked for details.
The company also sent out a media advisory noticing a "significant Alaska energy-related announcement" at a news conference today in Anchorage.
I hear both that BP is involved and (more of a rumor) that the companies have struck some sort of deal with the congressional delegation. Stay tuned.
