Big voter turnout in Fairbanks GOP race
Published Tuesday, February 5, 2008
Like so many other places throughout the country, Fairbanks GOP polling sites were flooded with voters, both the party-faithful and newly-declared Republicans.
The Gavora Mall polling site alone saw more than 800 people cast their vote, and officials said a large number of them were previously independent.
What does that mean for the final tally? Well, we just don't know yet, but Alaska Republican officials have said results should start trickling in in the next hour or so.
