In keeping with a theme of historic photos of Fairbanks, I just came across this link to historic postcards of Fairbanks (thanks OkieMom on the Arctic Cam.) I'm sure local historian Candy Waugaman has a collection that'll knock your socks off, but these are a pretty cool starting point:

According to the site, they're called Penny Postcards because they cost 1 cent to mail. Didn't penny candy only cost a penny at one time? I wish inflation would curb my sweet tooth, but that just hasn't happened.
